Study Purpose

Rheumatoid Arthritis is an inflammatory conditions where the body's immune system attacks its own tissue, including joints. Treatment of RA can be managed with a class of medications called targeted synthetic disease-modifying anti- rheumatic drug (tsDMARD). Other treatments include addition of tumor necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi)-biologic medication to existing methotrexate (MTX) in patients where methotrexate alone may not be working well enough. This study will answer the question: Which of these two medication groups is better for RA patients to be used first? The goal is to help RA patients feel better (daily function, sleep, fatigue, pain).
