Eat Right, Even When On the Go

Whether it’s from a fast food restaurant or it’s a packaged portable food item, more and more people are eating on the go. People want fast, easy, inexpensive and good-tasting food to give them the energy to keep up with their demanding lifestyles. As schedules get busier and more time is spent on the run, it seems harder to find time for a nutritious meal. Individuals are more likely to grab food or beverages throughout the day whenever they have the chance; they may not care if the food is for a snack or a meal, or if it’s healthy or not. Unfortunately, eating on the go can sometimes mean favoring convenience foods that are high in fat, calories and sugar over more nutritious options.

Even if you do eat on the go, with a little effort, you can still eat healthy. Plan ahead what you are going to eat, look at nutrition labels on packaged foods and nutrition facts on restaurant websites, or pack and bring your own food from home. Don’t compromise your health for convenience, eat nutritious foods while on the go to give your body fuel to fit your active lifestyle.
