Novel Umbrella Implant Offers Promising New Treatment for Patients with Heart Failure

A novel umbrella-like implant device called the Parachute™ Ventricular Partitioning Device offers an innovative, minimally invasive treatment option to help restore heart function for patients with ischemic heart failure and dramatically improve their quality of life. The device, which blocks off the damaged portion of the heart so the rest of the heart does not have to work as hard, is currently being studied at University Hospitals Case Medical Center as part of a clinical trial.
