Hospital Observation Program at UH Elyria Medical Center

The Observation Program at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center is an opportunity for those who are interested in healthcare careers to shadow a UH employee and learn more about the medical field they are observing. All applicants are required to complete an application, online compliance training, adhere to all health screening requirements and show proof of healthcare coverage. Applicants are permitted to observe for 30 calendar days within a year.


Operating Room Observation Opportunities in Elyria

Anyone interested in observing in the operating rooms (OR) must be at least 18 years old. Applicants under the age of 21 are limited to 10 observation experiences in the OR in a calendar year. Applicants that are interested in OR observation must watch a PowerPoint presentation that explains the University Hospitals OR processes and take the subsequent quiz. Turn your quiz into Volunteer Services along with your completed and signed application. If accepted, you will be issued a badge that must be worn at all times during your observation experience.
