Expert Care & Support for the Stages of Menopause

Menopause is the permanent end of menstruation. It represents a transition into a new phase in life, and can impact a woman’s health and well-being.

Board-certified gynecologists, certified nurse practitioners and women’s behavioral health specialists at University Hospitals offer expert care, education and support for women throughout all stages of menopause, including:

  • Perimenopause: The transitional period when estrogen and hormone levels begin to rapidly change and symptoms, such as hot flashes, mood changes, sleep disruptions, changes in the menstrual pattern and vaginal dryness begin to appear.
  • Menopause: The time when menstruation and reproductive functions stop.
  • Post menopause: The stage after menopause when symptoms or issues may continue or new symptoms could occur.
