Paul Ousley is a board certified music therapist within University Hospitals Connor Whole Health. He is currently serving inpatients at University Hospitals Bedford Outpatient Campus, UH Regional Hospitals with a specific focus on the areas of pain and stress management, as well as implementing music for relaxation for both patients and staff. Paul is also Co-Director of the Healing Harmony program at UH Connor Whole Health. This program places volunteer musicians in the lobbies of regional University Hospitals campuses in order to bring the gift of music to patients, families, visitors, and staff. Paul received his Music Therapy clinical training throughout the Northeast Ohio region, including children in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, teenagers at the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court, stroke patients within a private practice setting, and adults and children with developmental delays at New Avenues to Independence of Cleveland.

Paul obtained his bachelor’s degree in Music, with a concentration on Bass Guitar, from Spring Arbor University (’08), and completed his Music Therapy education at Cleveland State University (’16). Paul utilizes musical experiences, discussions, song writing and his passion for music to build rapport with patients to help them better control pain and stress while hospitalized.

In this role he acts as the first point of contact for perspective interns interested in joining the UH Connor Whole Health Music Therapy team to complete their six-month training on the path to becoming Board Certified Music Therapists (MT-BC).
