Thoracic Radiology

Our chest radiologists are responsible for conventional chest radiography, all thoracic CT, thoracic MRI and interventional procedures, including biopsies and diagnostic pleural drainages. Our team works closely with University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute’s Cardiovascular Imaging Center, Thoracic Surgery and Pulmonary & Critical Care. This partnership ensures patient care is of the highest standard.

A variety of procedures are performed within the division, including the following:

  • Coronary CT angiography –a new and advanced non-invasive test performed on the 64 slice CT scan. This test provides direct visualization of the arteries and heart within 5 seconds. This is a very accurate way to detect coronary artery disease. This test helps to eliminate the need for catheter-based X-ray angiography in many patients.
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Chest computed tomography (CT Scan)
