About the Dermatology Residency Program

Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine / University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center offers residency training in Dermatology with six residents accepted each year. The program provides exposure and training through rotations at UH Cleveland Medical Center, UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, UH Seidman Cancer Center, UH Regional Hospitals and Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.

It is a traditional three-year training program that provides residents with a challenging, innovative, and multidisciplinary experience in a collaborative environment that promotes intellectual growth.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The University Hospitals Department of Dermatology remains committed to the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion.  We are proud to serve our diverse patient population and support the American Academy of Dermatology’s vision for increasing representation of underrepresented individuals within our workforce.  We believe that working to recognize and understand our differences, whether they be racial/ethnic, socioeconomic, LGBTQ+, or in other realms is important, and we are constantly working toward improvement in this regard.

To meet these goals, we have a number of initiatives ongoing within the department, and these include:

  • A Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee consisting of faculty, residents, and medical students who meet quarterly to formulate and review departmental initiatives
  • Invited keynote speakers for our Diversity Grand Rounds Series
