Radiation Oncology at UH Offers CyberKnife®, a Standard of Excellence in Cancer Treatment

The Department of Radiation Oncology at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center offers CyberKnife®, a non-invasive alternative to traditional open cancer surgery or radiation therapy.

University Hospitals is the first and only hospital in northeast Ohio to offer the newest generation CyberKnife® treatments for cancer. With CyberKnife®, the multiple highly focused beams give a high dose of radiation to a specific site while sparing the normal, healthy tissue.

Nationally Recognized Cancer Protocols

Experts at the Department of Radiation Oncology at UH offer a nationally recognized CyberKnife® protocol for treating gynecological cancer, as well as genitourinary cancer.

UH is one of the only sites in the nation that has an active kidney cancer protocol using CyberKnife® technology.

New Hope for Cancer Treatment

CyberKnife® uses image-guided cancer treatment technology to provide patients with the highest accuracy and precision therapy for improved outcomes. Targeting tumors anywhere in the body, CyberKnife® gives new hope to certain patients, particularly those with smaller tumors.

CyberKnife® advanced technology is virtually pain-free and non-invasive. Treatments are delivered in one to five sessions for most patients.

CyberKnife® Patient Support Group

The CyberKnife® Patient Support Group [link to http://www.cyberknife.com/]is an educational and compassionate organization founded and managed by former CyberKnife® patients. The Patient Support Group provides a much-needed supportive environment to patients undergoing CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery.

This national organization patient support group offers regular meetings, online patient and doctor message boards, CyberKnife® information and other resources to help our patients and their families.
