Clinical Research & Clinical Trials

Research-Driven Treatment Starts with Clinical Trials

Leading therapies at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center often result from the groundbreaking research done in clinical trials at our center. These research studies explore new treatments and medications. Clinical trials have the potential to benefit the patients involved in the study. They also can help future gynecologic cancer patients once the results of the clinical trial are known.

At any given time, UH Seidman Cancer Center is conducting 25 to 30 clinical trials for women with gynecologic cancer or at high risk of developing gynecologic cancer. This research includes trials for women with newly diagnosed or recurrent cancers, as well as studies aimed at preventing gynecologic cancers or improving the accuracy of early diagnosis.

Because of its focus on leading research, UH Seidman Cancer Center has five times the national average of clinical trial participation. If we determine that a patient is a good candidate for one of these studies, she may be invited to volunteer to participate in a clinical trial.
