Nurse Navigators Guide Patients through Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment

When a patient needs a biopsy after screening and diagnostic imaging, our radiology nurse navigators help guide them through the next steps to determine whether cancer is present. If a patient is diagnosed with breast cancer, our oncology nurse navigators then step in as a liaison between patients and physicians, helping to guide the patient through treatment. Our navigators focus on providing patients with:

  • A knowledgeable contact person to facilitate questions, concerns or issues
  • Educational information
  • Emotional support
  • Referrals as needed

Additionally, we provide the referring physician with information of the plan of treatment and follow-up. Our goal is to keep the lines of communication open throughout the entire treatment process.
