University Hospitals patient Emil Chuck says that checking important numbers such as cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose is important to him, and he is able to manage them all using his MyUHCare Personal Health Record.
“My experience has been really good in terms of seeing what my lab results are. As soon as they are in, I get an email notification that new information has come in,” Emil said. “I can track what my past numbers have been. It is nice to have them all in one spot.”
Emil has found the appointment scheduling feature to be a convenient way to schedule with his primary care physicians in family medicine, and specialists like ophthalmologists.
“Before, I had to schedule either on the phone or via a website going through a menu of web options and surveys to get to the right physician. It is more streamlined to schedule with a specific physician through my personal health record.”
By communicating with one of his physicians through secure messaging, Emil was able to get questions answered about his care.
“I was able to get clarification regarding information about lab tests,” Emil said. “It was nice to be able to get that type of feedback. That type of feedback is really important.”
Using the PHR to request prescription refills is a feature Emil finds especially convenient: “I see many different residents in family medicine. Not having to schedule an appointment just to get a refill is easier, too.”
