Drs. James Goldfarb and Brooke Rossi
The Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at University Hospitals MacDonald Women’s Hospital offers board-certified specialists who provide treatment and solutions for a vast array of unique reproductive challenges.
Our services include solutions and resources for women who wish to conceive or preserve their eggs or embryos until they are ready for a child. We also treat hormonal conditions in women of all ages.
The fertility specialists at UH Fertility Center have years of experience helping couples become families and grow. A pioneer in a variety of fertility treatment techniques, UH Fertility Center director Dr. James Goldfarb is credited with achieving the world’s first surrogate in-vitro fertilization (IVF) birth, Ohio’s first IVF birth and the first birth following preimplantation genetic testing. Our board-certified physicians provide top-level care to patients across the full spectrum of reproductive needs.
Our breadth of treatment options, whether hormonal, surgical or natural, help meet our patients’ diverse needs and preferences.
In addition to help with fertility issues, many women seek treatment to resolve hormonal problems that interfere with their daily lives.
Our hormonal and non-hormonal treatment options can help women suffering from significant menopause symptoms, osteoporosis, other hormonal changes inherent with aging, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), hirsutism and menstrual bleeding abnormalities.
Our compassionate team of highly trained specialists is committed to finding health solutions that meet patients’ physical and emotional needs, and they are delivered by means of a unique multidisciplinary approach that includes fertility experts, gynecologists, genetic counselors, imaging and behavioral health specialists who work together to achieve optimal results.
Because fertility treatments can be stressful, two behavioral health experts who specialize in supporting reproductive medicine are ready to assist. The Division of Behavioral Medicine at UH MacDonald Women’s Hospital combines biomedical and behavioral sciences and applies them to diagnose, prevent and treat medical and psychiatric illness. Very few hospitals worldwide include this relatively new interdisciplinary field within a medical department.
For those who desire natural and holistic treatments, we provide access to options such as acupuncture, clinical massage, hot stone and Reiki therapy.
The Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility focuses its research on issues that profoundly impact our patients. We are the proud recipient of a National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant to find groundbreaking solutions for recurrent pregnancy loss and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
We are also dedicated to ongoing research related to many of the services we provide, including ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination, treatment for sexual dysfunction and the treatment of uterine fibroids.
