Latest Treatments Outsmart Gynecologic Cancer

The gynecological oncologists at UH Geauga Medical Center can give patients access to novel chemotherapy methods offered through UH Seidman Cancer Center in Cleveland. This includes the use of hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) to outsmart cancer of the female reproductive system. HIPEC is used to treat gynecologic cancers such as new and recurrent ovarian and certain endometrial cancers.

In addition, gynecological oncology offers another new method -- stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) -- that has been used successfully on other types of cancer. University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is the first treatment facility to apply SBRT to gynecologic cancers.
