About
Nolan Farrell, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma surgeon at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and University Hospitals Lake West Medical Center. Dr. Farrell also has privileges at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s for the treatment of complex pediatric trauma. He sees patients at University Hospitals Bolwell at UH Cleveland Medical Center and University Hospitals Brunner Sanden Deitrick Wellness Center in Mentor, Ohio. He is an Assistant Professor of orthopedic surgery at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Farrell's special interests include complex adult and pediatric trauma, upper and lower extremity fracture care, and total hip arthroplasty. He has a particular interest in fractures of the pelvis and acetabulum, peri-articular fractures (fractures around joints), complex elbow fractures and dislocations, fragility fractures, malunion and nonunion, fracture-related infection, periprosthetic fractures (fractures around implants), total hip arthroplasty and shoulder fractures, including treatment with reverse shoulder arthroplasty for fracture.
Dr. Farrell is originally from Lake County and grew up in Perry, Ohio. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering. He earned his medical doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Farrell went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at the UTHSC - Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. He then went on to complete an orthopedic trauma fellowship at UH Cleveland Medical Center. He joined the UH medical staff in 2026.
Dr. Farrell is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
