About

Jason Jankowski, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained urologist at University Hospitals and an assistant professor of urology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. His clinical interests include the surgical management of patients with bladder, kidney and prostate cancer with a particular interest in minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Jankowski also sees and treats patients with general urologic conditions like stone disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and he is a weekly participant in the UH Genitourinary Oncology Tumor Board.

Dr. Jankowski joined the medical staff at University Hospitals in 2018, when he was recruited by urology chairman, Lee Ponsky, MD, to establish a robotic surgery program at UH St. John’s Medical Center, which has grown rapidly under his oversight. He also enjoys participating in the education of urology residents, mentoring them both in the operating room and outpatient clinics. He is also involved in their bi-weekly educational conferences.

After graduating magna cum laude from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Science in, Dr. Jankowski attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health where he earned his medical doctorate. He then completed a general surgery internship and urology residency at Case Western Reserve University, followed by fellowship training in urologic oncology and minimally invasive surgery at City of Hope Cancer Center in Los Angeles. Prior to coming to University Hospitals, he was in private practice in Columbus for ten years where he was well respected by his medical colleagues and elected Chairman of Urology at Riverside Methodist Hospital and the Board of Directors for Central Ohio Urology Group.

Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio Dr. Jankowski lives on the west side of Cleveland with his wife and three daughters. He is an avid golfer and Cleveland/Ohio State sports fan. He also enjoys family runs and coaching his daughters in cross country and track.

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
