This community-based hospital is a 25-bed, not-for-profit, acute care facility, and has provided quality healthcare to the families and businesses of Conneaut and its surrounding communities since 1922. Since joining University Hospitals in August 1997, we have invested significantly in programs, equipment and facility improvements, including a major renovation of our surgical unit.
UH Conneaut Medical Center is a federally designated Critical Access Facility, signifying its vital importance to the community in providing a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. In addition, the hospital has immediate access to the Centers of Excellence at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, as well as the full resources of new technology, financial investment, and the ongoing mission to bring the very best medical professionals from the Cleveland area.

With a population of approximately 12,000, the City of Conneaut is located in northeastern Ohio and has 27 square miles within its corporate city limits. Since 1992, the city has operated under a Council/Manager form of government, and contains a diverse mixture of urban areas and rural farmland. Conneaut has over seven miles of shoreline along Lake Erie, with beaches, boating facilities and a robust summer tourist trade. An excellent school system and reasonable taxes make the area an ideal place to live and raise a family. Conneaut offers a unique mixture of recreation, tree-lined neighborhoods, employment opportunities, shopping and social activities nestled along the southern shore of Lake Erie. It is located within an hour of Cleveland (Ohio’s second-largest city), the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers, the Great Lakes Science Center, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, the acclaimed Cleveland Museums of Art and Natural History, and Severance Hall, where the world renowned Cleveland Orchestra performs. Conneaut is minutes from the Pennsylvania border and about a half-hour from Erie, Pennsylvania.
