Grace Bedford Provides Convenient Access to Long-Term Acute Care

UH Bedford Medical Center, A Campus of UH Regional Hospitals has partnered with Grace Hospital to provide a 360-degree spectrum of acute care at one convenient location in our community.

Grace Bedford, which is located on the third floor of the main UH Bedford Medical Center building, is a 32-bed long-term acute care facility that cares for patients who are very ill, but progressing, patients with multiple long-term acute medical needs, and patients who require a longer period of more intensive, inpatient treatment.

Goals of Grace Bedford Acute Care Facility

The mission of Grace Bedford is to provide specialized care for patients and families coping with catastrophic illness and injury. One of the goals of Grace Bedford is to act as a bridge between a patient’s short-term hospital stay and going home or to a less intensive level of care. The staff also works to restore a patient’s greatest level of independence and to involve the patient and his or her family in the recovery process.

Specialized Care to Meet a Variety of Needs

Patients at Grace Bedford can now receive 24-hour monitoring from staff who specialize in:

  • Medically complex cases
  • Rehabilitation services
  • Transplant and mechanical circulatory support (MCS)
  • Ventilator weaning
  • Wound care

Dedicated Staff Provides Around-the-Clock Care

Physicians and specialists see each patient every day, and are always on call to quickly and skillfully address any emergency situation. The dedicated Grace Hospital staff includes:

  • An all-RN staff, with LPN and PCA support as needed
  • A certified wound care nurse
  • Certified respiratory, occupational, physical and speech therapists
  • Clinical nutritionists
  • Registered pharmacists
  • Case management/social services
