At University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, residents care for children across the full spectrum of health and disease, from common pediatric conditions to some of the most complex and medically challenging cases in the region. As a major academic medical center and referral destination, our program offers exceptional exposure to high-acuity, high-complexity clinical care. We were among the first pediatric residency programs in the country to implement and rigorously study the X+Y scheduling model, helping to advance the conversation about how residency training can better support learning, continuity, wellness, and patient care. This spirit of innovation continues today as we continually evaluate and improve our curriculum, embrace new educational strategies, and prepare residents for the evolving future of pediatric medicine.
