Clinical Training

Clinical training experiences are designed to expand inpatient clinical skills as well as bedside teaching skills for a wide range of learners. There is a focus on graduated autonomy for our fellows in a variety of clinical settings. Service is provided across all 3 of our clinical sites. Clinical experiences include:

  • 12 weeks on the hospitalist teaching service with direct faculty supervision
  • 12 weeks on the hospitalist teaching service with indirect supervision
  • 8 weeks on the community hospitalist non-teaching service with indirect supervision
  • evening shifts on the hospitalist teaching service with indirect supervision
  • 4 weeks experience in pediatric sedation
  • 4 weeks experience in newborn nursery
  • 4 weeks as co-fellow in the PICU with a focus on assessing and stabilizing the critically ill child
  • Surgical Co-Management experience
  • Comprehensive Care patient experience
  • Palliative Care experience
