Mark is proud to be a fellow and part of Rainbow Babies Pediatric Hematology and Oncology team. He dreamed of doing this work for many years. Mark is an avid cook. He has an eclectic collection of cookbooks and often reads them for fun. He is a fanatic of farmer’s markets – always searching for that perfectly ripe summer tomato. He’s a lifelong hoopster (basketball player) and once made 47 free throws in a row. He delves into the daily newspaper –used to be NYT, now the Plain Dealer! He is happy to escape into a good book. He seeks out medically-themed fiction, essays and poetry. Mark loves the lab bench and doing procedures. He owns three Cleveland area hiking guides and uses them to explore local woodlands with his wife and three kids. Mark strives to practice an engaging style of medicine. He makes sure to get to know the people in his care; their worries; frustrations, and fears as well as their physical pain. He is dedicated to building relationships, telling and listening stories. On a daily basis, he is grateful to be a PHO fellow; he knows it’s exactly where he belongs.
