Research Training

Fellows select a research mentor usually in the latter part of their first year of the fellowship and develop a project to complete during the remainder of their training. Mentors may be in the division or outside of it, including basic science departments. The fellow and mentor meet on a regular basis. Each fellow has a scholarly oversight committee whose responsibility it is to ensure that the fellow has a relevant and attainable project goal. The committee meets on a quarterly basis for project updates from the fellow. Our fellows present their findings at our national meeting each year for the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN).
