Rainbow and Family-Centered Care

Family Presence Boosts Wellness at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital

Bo the Take Care Bear

UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio understands that children heal faster when their family remains close. In fact, research conducted at the hospital in the 1960’s and 1970’s provided evidence that parent-infant bonding plays a key role in successful patient outcomes. That is why we have brought Bo the Take Care Bear, who places a high value on family, to become the newest member of the Rainbow Care Team. In the same way that Bo watches over each patient, he also cares for moms, dads, and siblings, too.

Bo knows that the healing process takes a team effort at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, and that the entire family is a vital part of this process.

UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital's Nurturing and Healing Environment
