Collaboration Services
Research Resources
The Department of Emergency Medicine’s Division of Research provides support, guidance, and resources for investigators to engage in a wide array of research collaboratives, programs, and projects. The Division of Research assists Emergency Medicine departments across the entire University Hospitals network from funding and IRB submission through execution, post-project reporting and dissemination. If you are interested in conducting research with our emergency medicine team, please contact us at EDresearch@UHhospitals.org to initiate the process. If study involves enrollment in the ED, please reach out to us.
Research Credentialing
Our team assists all researchers including faculty, fellows, residents, medical students, graduate students, and undergraduate students in completing the steps to become a credentialed research associate at University Hospitals. Our team supports these associates through required training, background check, and the application process.
Regulatory Support
Our project managers (PMs) provide guidance and support for clinical research, clinical trials, quality improvement projects, etc. that take place in the adult emergency departments throughout University Hospitals. The PMs support the Emergency Medicine researchers and associates in, but not limited to, navigating an IRB submission, maintaining regulatory documents, and following federal, state, and institutional policies to remain compliant.
Biostatistical Support
Our department’s Biostatistician can assist in the composition of study design, analysis, and interpretation of research findings as well as data acquisition. This support extends to collaborative IRB applications, conference abstracts/posters, and manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
Grant Submissions and Management
Our team can assist with grant applications and submissions through federal, foundation, and local grants while also providing contacts and timelines for submissions. Furthermore, we have a great working relationship with University Hospital’s grants teams to help locate, obtain, and manage grant funding.
