Nursing at University Hospitals
UH-Cleveland State Nursing Program
UH and Cleveland State University recently joined forces to launch a new nursing education initiative designed to increase the number of baccalaureate-degreed nurses who enter the workforce each year. Through this program, UH will provide financial assistance to nursing students in their senior year in exchange for a commitment to work at UH for two years post-graduation. Additionally, we provide our experienced nursing staff to serve as teachers in Cleveland State nursing program. Through this collaboration with UH, Cleveland State University has added 64 admissions per year to its BSN program, beginning with the fall semester of 2017.
Program details:
- This additional cohort of primarily weekend and evening students expands educational opportunities for adults who are working full-time during the day.
- 20 students are selected annually as UH Nursing Scholars to receive $12,000 in financial support for their junior and senior years, contingent on their employment with UH for at least two years after graduation.
- CSU nursing students have opportunities to complete their clinical education across the diverse UH health system.
- CSU nursing students have opportunities to work as part-time nursing assistants at UH while completing their education.
