Each year our Annual Report showcases many of the remarkable people who comprise UH – our patients, caregivers, donors, volunteers, business partners and community stakeholders. It’s also an opportunity to highlight new initiatives and recent success.
2022 was a challenging year for University Hospitals and health systems across the country. Importantly though, our caregivers demonstrated tremendous flexibility, quickly reevaluating our cost structure, accelerating our strategic plan, innovating new ways to deliver care, and never wavering in our continuous Quest for Quality.
This year’s Annual Report showcases many examples of how we are advancing in this quest, including building a culture of trust that cultivates a sense of belonging, changing the way we invest in the community to better promote health equity, re-designing the way we provide care so maximum value is generated for our patients, engaging our caregivers so they have a say in enhancing our efficiency, and continually investing in research and innovation so we further our legacy of pioneering medical advancement and care models for generations to come.
It also recognizes the extraordinary, record-breaking year of giving: $216.9 million in community and external support, which fueled new or expanded departments, programs and services across the health system.
