Study Purpose

The purpose of this study is to help us better understand why some people get dementia and others do not. Learning more about the role that genes play in people getting dementia may lead to ways to prevent and treat it. While some genes for dementia have been found, others have not. The goal of our research is to find additional genes for dementia.

Who Can Participate

Participants diagnosed with dementia or a representatives of someone diagnosed with dementia may be eligible for this study. Participants may also be enrolled in this study as a control (a person without the condition being studied) if they do not have any memory problems, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease and have no immediate relatives with dementia.
