Long Tradition of Training Leaders in Surgery

The General Surgery Residency Program has a long tradition in training surgical leaders and focuses on providing high quality and individually-oriented education in general surgery.

The Department of Surgery at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, in collaboration with Case Western Reserve University, trains the surgical leaders of tomorrow. Our residency and fellowship programs are an integral part of the Department of Surgery and add to the rich culture of education and research. Residents and fellows are motivated, compassionate and willing to contribute to the excellence of the program. Graduates from our program continually achieve top positions and make significant contributions in both clinical and academic surgery. The core curriculum follows the SCORE outline, and educational conferences are focused on case-based questions, which help the residents achieve proficiency in decision-making.
