Training and Experience in Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery residents at University Hospitals participate in didactic conferences, including:

  • Weekly core curriculum lectures
  • Pre-operative indications conference
  • Grand rounds
  • Monthly journal club
  • M&M conference
  • Cadaver dissections throughout the year
  • Craniofacial Team and Vascular Anomalies Team

These instructional components have been designed to provide comprehensive training and experience in plastic surgery.

The curriculum is sequenced so that all topics of the plastic surgery core curriculum are covered in a 2 year cycle, meeting all six core competency requirements.

Focus on Academics

Academic productivity is a hallmark feature of the Department of Plastic Surgery Residency Program at UH.

The curriculum contains a meaningful and integrated research component with a dual focus on basic and clinical projects within the plastic surgery division.
