The Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program provides diverse and comprehensive training for educational and career successes in radiology. We perform over 1.5 million examinations annually across all subspecialties including our adult and pediatric Level 1 trauma centers, free-standing University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center and over 40 additional community and outpatient centers. In addition, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center is consistently ranked as one of the nation's leading academic medical centers.

Collaborative Learning Atmosphere

Our department is a world-renowned leader in imaging research with clinical and basic science projects always active. We promote a collaborative learning atmosphere which engages attending radiologists, residents and ancillary staff in a team-based approach. Residents interested in education have the opportunity to teach and work with rotating medical students consistently hosted by the department.

We also support industry partnerships with major companies such as Siemens Healthcare and Philips Healthcare to advance research opportunities and clinical innovation.

Strong Results for Education and Placement

Our team highly values core curriculum education and have proudly accomplished 100 percent American Board of Radiology (ABR) Core Exam pass rate since the exam's inception. All of our residents also match at highly desirable fellowships across the country and acquire positions in both academics and private practice.

State-of-the-Art Technology

We offer state-of-the-art equipment and technology with 16 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) units within the system including a 3T clinical magnet and a 4T human research magnet. We are a fully digital filmless department utilizing the Sectra PACS platform and M*Modal Fluency software. We are also one of the first radiology departments to acquire a positron emission tomography–magnetic resonance imaging (PET-MRI) for clinical and research work at UH Seidman Cancer Center.
