PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at UH Parma Medical Center

Founded in 1961, University Hospitals Parma Medical Center is a 332-bed acute care, teaching facility located in Cleveland's largest suburb, Parma. UH Parma Medical Center includes a nine-floor acute care hospital, four medical buildings and several satellite facilities. In line with UH’s mission To Heal. To Teach. To Discover., UH Parma Medical Center hosts a medical residency training program for internal medicine and family practice.

Pharmacy Services

The UH Parma Medical Center Department of Pharmacy operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide a full range of pharmacy services including medication dispensing, distribution, sterile product preparation, drug information and monitoring of drug therapy. The pharmacy department services approximately 224 inpatient beds, a 39-bed emergency department (adult and pediatric), anticoagulation clinic, UH Seidman Cancer Center and hospice program. An electronic medical record supports computerized physician order entry, and automated dispensing cabinets are utilized for medication storage and drug distribution.

Pharmacy Residency Purpose

The UH Parma Medical Center PGY1 Pharmacy Residency will graduate highly skilled pharmacists with the experience and tools necessary to provide evidence-based, patient-centered, quality care. Program graduates will be competent and compassionate members of the interdisciplinary health care team, exhibiting a high level of professionalism while contributing to the pharmacy profession.

Graduates of accredited Colleges of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and eligible for licensure in the state of Ohio may submit the following materials via PhORCAS to the program director for consideration of residency program admission:
