Advanced Imaging Rotation

Fellows in the Advanced Imaging Rotation of the Cardiovascular Fellowship Program engage in:

  • Aid in the combined lecture series with radiology (in shared file)
  • Assist in research projects (as applicable)
  • Learn protocols for cardiac CTs and MRIs (located in the shared file)
  • Practice reading/interpreting studies
  • Understand specific indications and limitations for CTs and MRIs

Cardiac Computed Tomography

COCATS Level One: 15 exams viewed / 50 exams interpreted
COCATS Level Two: 65 exams viewed / 250 exams interpreted


Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging

COCATS Level One: ≥One month / 25 exams "exposed to"
COCATS Level Two: ≥Three months / 50 exams viewed / 150 exams interpreted


Clinical Content and Fellow Responsibilities

Fellows will report to the MRI reading room in the basement of Bolwell following morning didactics. The daily workflow is as follows:

  • Monday: Scan/watch studies, read with radiology, research
  • Tuesday: Scan/watch studies, read with radiology, research
  • Wednesday: Read with Sanjay Rajagopalan, MD, protocol studies
  • Thursday: Read with Dr. Rajagopalan, protocol studies
  • Friday: Scan/watch studies, read with radiology, research
