Pancreatic Cancer

UH Virtual Consult for Pancreatic Cancer

If you have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer or a related cancer, early referral to a surgeon is critical. Pancreatic cancer can spread quickly in the course of the disease, when the tumor is still the size of a golf ball or smaller. Our goal is to locate and treat the cancer early before it spreads to another body part.

At University Hospitals, we offer a face-to-face UH Virtual Consult as a first step for patients who have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. During your virtual consultation, you will be able to use the video camera on your PC, laptop, tablet or smart phone to connect with nationally recognized UH pancreas surgeon Jordan Winter, MD, to evaluate your options. Dr. Winter is a leading clinician with 18 years of experience in the field of surgical oncology. In addition to his expertise in patient care, he has also conducted extensive research focused on finding new and better treatments for pancreatic cancer.

During your virtual consult, you can discuss the details of your diagnosis and go over all of the treatment options available to you, including whether you may qualify for a clinical trial. You can also ask questions and get to know Dr. Winter and his approach to pancreatic cancer care. The goal of the consult is to review all of your choices and determine which path can give you the best chance at successfully treating your pancreatic cancer.
