Discussing Your Child’s Results
Getting the Sleep Study Test Results at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital
After a child’s sleep test at the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital Pediatric Sleep Center, parents can expect to get the results in about one to two weeks. At the same time that the sleep test is ordered, a follow-up appointment is planned with the same UH Rainbow sleep medicine specialist who first evaluated the child and ordered the sleep test to fully discuss the results and understand treatment recommendations.
If the study was ordered by the child’s primary care physician or another specialist, then he or she is responsible for reviewing the results with the family. If the family or referring physician wants the child and family seen to discuss the study results, then the family can make an appointment with the sleep medicine specialist to discuss the results and next steps.
The Pediatric Sleep Center at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital is among the best places for sleep studies in children and teenagers. Not only are we one of the leading referral centers in the nation, but also we treat the most complex sleep cases in infants, children and teens. Additionally, the Pediatric Sleep Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
