Compounding Pharmacy
The Zlotnik Family Pharmacy has the added benefit of being a compounding pharmacy. Drug compounding is the process of combining or altering ingredients in a medication to meet the individual needs of a patient. Our compounding medication services include flavored liquid medicines for young children, tailored pediatric dosages and medicines formulation for patients with allergies to certain ingredients.
Meds to Beds
Our pharmacy also offers bedside medication delivery for families with children being treated at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. This service, called Meds to Beds, provides families with bedside counseling from a pharmacy specialist before discharge and medication prescriptions delivered right to their hospital room, eliminating the need to visit pharmacies outside of the hospital. UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s offers a mail order prescription option for all pediatric patients. Make home your only stop after leaving your appointment! Other benefits include:

Medsafe – Medication Disposal
Dispose of your medications safely and securely at two Medsafe UH medication disposal boxes:
- Main Campus Rainbow Babies Hospital on the first floor (past the front desk)
- UH Rainbow Center for Women & Children Midtown Location (first floor)
We accept prescription medications in original packaging (narcotics and controlled and non-controlled drugs), OTC medications in original packaging and liquid medications of less than four ounces and placed in a bag.
What we do NOT accept:
- Illegal, hazardous, chemotherapy or radiopharmaceutical drugs
- Needles or syringes
- Medical devices
- Batteries
- Aerosol cans (inhalers)
- Mercury-containing devices
