Telehealth

UH Rainbow Care Connection Offers Easy Access to an Expert Pediatric Medical Team

UH Rainbow Care Connection provides quick access to our highly qualified medical team — day or night. Working in part with University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital’s Rainbow Call Center, the UH Rainbow Care Connection Network incentivizes innovative telehealth programs to improve access for children to receive medical care and treatment.

24/7 Telephone Medical Team Access

The 24/7-telephone triage service is comprised of a nurse-doctor team that delivers medical care to children. This immediate access to medical care gives three options of telephone service for parents of children and adolescents, including:

  • Traditional nurse telephone triage
  • Prescriptive therapy based on pre-approved standing orders to treat mild pediatric illnesses
  • Physician-level evaluation when necessary

Telepsychiatry

The primary goal of Telepsychiatry is to increase UH Rainbow Care Connection Network pediatricians’ ability to access the office-based psychiatric social worker (PSW) to provide in-office patient behavioral health assessments and treatment recommendations immediately through use of telemedicine.
