Message from the DIO

In the University Hospitals Community Consortium, we seek to answer the national call to train the next generation of community based providers. Our osteopathic graduate medical education programs offer trainees the best of both US medical traditions—a robust osteopathic integrative experience, and the excellence in education fostered by the American Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).  We are proud to have our initial accreditation from the ACGME, and are embracing the ACGME spirit of quality improvement driven clinical outcomes, well-being and a nurturing learning environment. We offer a strong balance of ambulatory and inpatient experiences in a variety of settings.

Our community focus allows our ability to truly know and develop each of our learners, while still having access and opportunities afforded by our University Hospital Health System’s tradition of graduate medical education academic excellence and rigor, which is situated in the UHCMC Level 1 Trauma Center. Each of our programs has a host hospital, while offering the consistency and benefits of a consortium. The consortium expands our learning opportunities, as does our partnership with the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Welcome to the Land of CLE! We welcome your exploration of our programs who seek to serve and improve population health in the community in which they train.
