The ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency Program offered by University Hospitals Regional Hospitals Department of Medical Education has trained osteopathic physicians for over 30 years. It is one of the longest-running learning programs of its kind in Northeast Ohio. The three-year residency features core rotations at multiple sites and an optimum balance of academic training and hands-on experiences.
Message from Dr. Witmer, Associate Program Director
“We strive to integrate a holistic, osteopathic approach to caring for patients. There is a sense of team building and comradery with our residents during their time at UH Regional Hospitals. The quality of teaching, and ultimately learning, is done because of a commitment to excellence by our faculty and residents.
We incorporate both a hospital-based residency clinic as well as several suburban ambulatory centers that allow residents to be learners in diverse surroundings.
Your learning is going to be lifelong, especially in medicine. Not only do we expect to be an integral part of you becoming an excellent physician, but also to help you continue to grow as a person in a constantly changing medical environment and world.
It is our mission to teach, to heal, and to discover both as educators and learners.
We will always be here for you when you join us as a resident physician, and will never leave you 'out there' alone if you need us after you have graduated. You are family with us.”
