Medical Education Department Values

  • Establish and develop innovative training programs
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism in all health care fields
  • Promote core principle and practices intrinsic to the osteopathic and podiatric professions
  • Maintain diversity
  • Uphold equality for all people
The UH system-integrated osteopathic and podiatric programs currently accommodate more than 100 learners. On the osteopathic side, we offer three training pathways:
  • AOA/ACGME Parallel
  • AOA/ACGME Dual

The podiatric program, which has been growing steadily for nearly 25 years, is on track to increase to approximately 40 residents over the next few years. This benchmark will make the UH Geauga Medical Center's Department of Medical Education podiatric program one of the largest in the nation.

As of 2012, both the DO and DPM training programs now incorporate a new rural selective agenda into their requirements. Learners gain exposure and perform rotations at diverse facilities in urban, suburban and rural environments throughout Northeast Ohio.
