Dr. Magalotti earned her medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University and completed Adult Psychiatry Residency at the University of Toledo. Dr. Magalotti then completed Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship (serving as Chief Fellow) and Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center / Case Western Reserve University. During training, she was recognized for her teaching and forensic psychiatry involvement via the Rappeport Fellowship Award from the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, the Resnick Scholar Award from the Midwest Chapter of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, and the George Ginsberg Fellowship Award from the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training. She has published and presented locally and nationally on general, child, and forensic psychiatry topics. She has participated in mental health advocacy efforts and has been active in organized psychiatry. She works clinically at Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare, mainly treating a long-term forensic population of men who are civilly committed after adjudication of Incompetent to Stand Trial and Unrestorable or Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity. She teaches and supervises in the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship.
