Adrienne Saxton, MD
Dr. Saxton graduated from the Case Western Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry in 2017. Since then, she has been doing forensic evaluations and treatment at the local state psychiatric hospital. She also performs independent medical examinations and other private forensic evaluations. Dr. Saxton has presented at the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law (AAPL) and at the American Psychiatric Association (APA) on topics including psychiatric malpractice, physician disciplinary action, competence to be executed, and testifying skills. She has published in the areas of: violence risk assessment, malpractice liability, competence to proceed pro se, disability evaluations, civil and criminal competencies, appellate court cases, and the relationship between IQ and crime. Her other areas of interest include criminal responsibility, malingering, threat assessment, and fitness for duty. Dr. Saxton serves on several committees including the AAPL Judicial Action Committee and teaches medical students, psychiatry residents, and fellows.
