Julia Liebner MD

Julia Liebner, MDJulia Liebner, MD is a pediatric hospitalist at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. She works with both the academic teaching service at the main campus and in the community hospital setting at UH St. John, where she covers the newborn nursery, inpatient pediatric unit, emergency room consults, and manages patient transfers from outside hospitals to Rainbow. She also provides high risk neonatal care at UH Geauga and UH Portage. Her clinical interests include HIV medicine, evidence-based neonatal guideline development, and increasing resident exposure to community hospital medicine.

Dr. Liebner grew up in Silver Spring, MD and completed her undergraduate training at Stanford University where she studied environmental change and the emergence of novel infectious diseases. She worked at the Vaccine Research Institute at the National Institutes of Health before attending medical school at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine and pediatrics residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Outside the hospital, she can be found running, biking, and swimming in the Cleveland Metroparks and competing in local triathlons. She enjoys visiting the national parks and experimenting in her garden and kitchen.
