Established ACGME Fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation
At University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, in conjunction with Case Western Reserve University, we have a long tradition in leading the way in academic cardiovascular medicine. Our Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship Program has been in existence for over two decades and has served as a teaching model to programs around the country.
Our faculty is dynamic, highly qualified and fully dedicated to the education and career development of our fellows. Fellows are treated as colleagues (the true meaning of the word fellow) – with the respect and courtesy they have earned and deserve.
We are pleased to offer one ACGME-accredited fellowship position per year, and several non-accredited positions (number varies by year). We also accept international applicants.
Our accredited position is available to candidates who have successfully completed an ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program. The candidate for this salaried position will be able to participate in all heart failure procedures described below and will be eligible to sit for the Advanced Heart Failure board exam upon successful completion of the fellowship. The position offers training in all procedures – i.e., biopsies, RHC, LHC, etc.
We also offer a partially-funded non-accredited position for candidates who apply directly from their Internal Medicine Residency Program. Please note: this position has restrictions regarding what procedures the fellow would be able to do without a cardiology fellowship. The international fellowship position is intended for cardiologists practicing outside of the U.S., who are interested in heart failure advanced therapies training.
We thank you for your interest in our program. This is a very exciting time to join the Advanced Heart Failure Fellowship at UH Cleveland Medical Center and we are excited to welcome you to our world-class team.
