Welcome from the Chiefs

Thank you for your interest in our department. As third-year residents and the current chiefs, we are excited to introduce you to the UH family medicine family. We hope you will take a close look at what our residency training program has to offer you, and we look forward to answering any questions you may have along the way.

We are a small, close-knit department in the heart of a large, world-class academic medical center and extensive regional health system. Our faculty offers a wide variety of expertise from maternity care to international health, research, public and preventative health, mental illness, inpatient medicine, musculoskeletal disorders, geriatrics and much more. We are privileged to work with specialists who are often internationally recognized in their fields. The extensive regional health system also allows us to experience care in nearby communities and rural areas.

As Family Medicine residents, a wide variety of career paths are open to us after graduation. Our department is especially well-equipped to help every resident develop his or her particular interests, whatever they may be. Our graduates have gone on to accomplished positions in everything from private practice to maternal/child health, to public health in developing countries to academics, to emergency room care to hospitalist positions. If you are hard-working and passionate about your patients, this is the place for you.

Feel free to contact us via our program administrator, Angela, or program coordinator, Stephanie, with any questions regarding the program or the current residents.
