Visiting Medical Students
Thank you for your interest in rotating, and subsequently applying to one of our several Osteopathic Training Programs at University Hospitals St. John Medical Center. All of the University Hospitals Osteopathic Consortium (UHOC) residency training sites have included an Osteopathic Curriculum since their respective inceptions. As we continue our journey transitioning from American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accreditation to continued American College of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accreditation, there will be a continued focus on providing all learners a quality Osteopathic education.
If accepted for an audition rotation at one of the UHOC residency training sites, you will be expected to uphold an Osteopathic philosophy of patient care, which embodies the tenets on which the profession is founded- the dynamic interaction of mind, body and spirit; the body’s ability to heal itself; the primary role of the musculoskeletal system; and preventative medicine as the key to maintain health.
Additionally, as an auditioning rotator at an Osteopathic Recognition training site, if there is an Osteopathic conference during your rotation, you will be expected to attend and participate. These hours WILL be counted towards any needed prerequisite.
The following rotations at University Hospitals St. John Medical Center are available to Visiting Students:
- Internal Medicine
- Emergency Medicine
- Family Medicine
Please fill out the Externship Application for Elective Rotations form to be considered for a rotation.
For Visiting Medical Students who have been scheduled, please read the Visiting Student Guide prior to beginning your rotation.
At this time we are unable to accept medical student from outside of the United States.
