Summer Volunteer Program at UH Portage Medical Center
UH Portage Medical Center offers the opportunity for high school and college students to volunteer over the summer months during their school break. The program runs ten weeks and students are assigned to age-appropriate volunteer jobs throughout the hospital and affiliate medical sites.
Students must submit a volunteer application, interview with a member of the Volunteer Services Department and attend a mandatory orientation. Students are asked to commit to a minimum 4 hours per week to the program. Most volunteer experiences will be assigned Monday – Friday with limited weekend volunteer opportunities available to students.
Note: Students with schedule conflicts involving more than two weeks of the program calendar should not apply. Returning students are given priority.
