Observational Learning Opportunities at UH Portage Medical Center
UH Portage Medical Center offers observational learning experiences in a variety of healthcare career fields. Volunteer Services will facilitate accommodating requests, although placement is not guaranteed. Observational experiences are usually limited to 4 hours, however individual departments have discretion to allow extended observational experiences upon request.
Note: Requests for physician, physician assistant and nurse practitioner observations require the observer to independently contact and arrange their experience date/s after completing the paperwork and being cleared to observe by Volunteer Services. A list of local healthcare professionals in these fields is available upon request.
High School Student Observations: Due to COVID restrictions at this time, high school observational experiences are being offered virtually. Monthly Q&A sessions over Zoom provide students an opportunity to learn about a specific healthcare career and ask questions from UH Portage healthcare professionals.
