Jane Little, MD
Jane Little, MD, is a hematology/oncology specialist at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center. Hematology is the study of diseases of the blood and of blood-forming organs and oncology is the study of cancer. Dr. Little is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Little is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology and fellowship trained in hematology/oncology. Her special clinical interests include benign (non-cancerous) blood diseases, primarily sickle cell disease, and bone marrow transplantation. Dr. Little was appointed Director of the Adult Sickle Cell Disease Program at UH Seidman Cancer Center in 2011. Prior to joining University Hospitals, she served as an attending physician and hematology consultant at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York.
Dr. Little graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in history from Case Western Reserve University. She remained in Cleveland and attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine to earn her Doctor of Medicine. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa and remained in Iowa to complete clinical and research fellowships in hematology/oncology. She subsequently worked at the University of Minnesota and the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Little currently sits on editorial review boards, national and regional committees and administrative boards related to her field. She is also an accomplished lecturer at local and national seminars related to sickle cell disease and general hematology/oncology topics.
Dr. Little is a member of the American Federation of Medical Research and the American Society of Hematology.

Dr. Little is an accomplished researcher with a focus on sickle cell disease, its prognosis, and management. She has been the principal investigator on several nationally funded research papers related to her field.
