Information for Patients Regarding Non-Essential Office Appointments, Surgeries and Procedures

University Hospitals will reopen its hospitals and ambulatory facilities on May 1 for all health care procedures that do not require an overnight stay in a hospital.

We are acting in compliance with guidance communicated April 29 by Gov. Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health.

Physicians and other health care providers will determine, on a case-by-case basis with their patients, which procedures will be scheduled based on an assessment of the risks compared to the benefits.

Our guiding principle in restoring health care services is the safety of our patients and caregivers. Teams have been working for weeks to develop processes and protocols to minimize the risks from the virus, and that work continues.

In addition, virtual visit consultations are available for our patients' health care needs.

Please note: UH is currently under universal masking guidelines, which means everyone in all facilities should wear a mask. It’s important for visitors, vendors and patients to bring their own mask when possible. This will help sustain the number of cloth masks available at screening checkpoints when entering a facility.
