Bio

Amy Zhang is a native of Troy, Michigan and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She received her Doctorate of Medicine through an accelerated undergraduate studies and medical school program from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008. She completed an ophthalmology residency at the Flaum Eye Institute University of Rochester, NY. Following residency training, Dr. Zhang completed her fellowship in Glaucoma at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. Currently she dedicates her time to ophthalmology residency education as an assistant professor of the glaucoma service at the University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University.

Her areas of interest reflect both the glaucoma and cataract specialties, including minimally invasive glaucoma procedures and traditional filtering procedures. Dr. Zhang has research interests in novel drug delivery methods including and evaluation of aqueous humor dynamics in glaucoma and treatment modalities. She has recently received a Mentoring for the Advancement of Physician Scientist award through the American Glaucoma Society.

Dr. Zhang is the subcommittee glaucoma liaison for the Young Eye Surgeons of the American Cataract and Refractive society. She has published in Archives of Ophthalmology and Experimental Eye Research. Additionally, she is a reviewer for peer review journal.

Dr. Zhang spends her spare time traveling and trying new culinary adventures with her husband in Cleveland.
